Your Role

The Federal Employee Program team is responsible for Federal Employee Health Benefits and serves all federal employee is the state of California. The Account Manager - Federal Employee Program, Senior - Central Valley will report to the Senior Manager, Account Management, FEP. In this role you will be primarily responsible for the sales, retention, and support of government programs to major accounts throughout Central California, including but not limited to Fresno, Kern, Kings, Monterey counties. Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Use thorough understanding of competitive product offerings and can confidently differentiate between BSCA and competitive products
  • Confidently articulate thoughts, is an active listener and can effectively handle and respond to client questions
  • Anticipate client pushback and has intermediate understanding of factors at play e.g. stickiness, switching costs, client value drivers
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected, especially in the area of year-round events to promote the FEP line of business
  • Participant and host events including face-to-face trainings and wellness presentations
  • Take the lead in the field scheduling multiple Open Season events in assigned territory
  • Organize, and execute Agency Benefit Officer Seminars prior to Open Season
  • Assist in the training of internal and temporary volunteers for Open Season purposes
  • Partner with marketing to develop and create items such as posters and PDF flyers to promote scheduled events

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a college degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Generally, requires extensive experience in sales
  • Has and uses advanced negotiating skills
  • Current health and life license required
  • Ability to travel to client sites 50-75% of the time

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 87230.00 to $ 139480.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
