Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms nationally with our staffing services for over 60 years. Our national/international aerospace client, that has been around for many decades, has a plant in Auburn, CA (Sacramento region) and they need a HR Manager to join their organization as a salaried direct employee. The target base salary range is $120K - $144K plus an approximate 10% bonus.

The plant has close to 100 employees and at this point there is one generalist direct report to this HR Manager position. This is mainly an onsite position. Full HR generalist responsibilities besides payroll. Although this is an established plant with a long history, experience building an HR department from scratch is a plus. It's also a plus to have worked for a mid-sized organization with a HQ elsewhere. Significant experience supporting a blue collar workforce (manufacturing floor employees) is required.

The HR Manager is responsible for administering corporate policies and procedures as they relate to core HR services, processes and programs as well as facilitate training, salary administration, performance management, and career development.

  • Serve as HR point of contact and first line support for all Human Resources functions within the Auburn site.
  • Partner with HR Leadership and client group(s) leadership to drive excellence through the organization, develop intellectual capital, and achieve organizational goals.
  • Interpret and counsel others on policies, procedures and programs relating to the human resources of the company.
  • Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high-level of employee morale; Consistently maintain favorable and effective relations among employees; accountable for motivating and stimulating supervisors and managers to ensure consistent, equal, and fair treatment of employees.
  • Work collaboratively on teams and consult effectively and independently with all levels of the organization and within the general HR community.
  • Work with managers, supervisors, and employees to address and resolve all types of employee relations issues, ensuring balance in representing all parties' interests.
  • Diagnose problems and identify & implement appropriate solutions.
  • Drive education, application, and issues surrounding the Anti-Harassment and Anti-Discrimination Policy Guidelines
  • Ensure that compliance and HR practices are consistent with business objectives, internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the recruitment process for the assigned client base.
  • Prepare job postings, place appropriate advertisements, and contact employment/recruitment agencies when appropriate; facilitate interviewing, including conducting interviews, background checks, and offer proposals.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Management or similar
Min 7 years of HR generalist experience that has centered on employee retention, employee relations, needs assessments, and recognition/rewards. This experience should include partnering with senior leadership in the plant and feeling comfortable being involved with strategic thinking, influential change and constructive feedback.
Min 4 years of experience supporting a blue collar workforce within a manufacturing plant (plant floor workers; e.g., cnc machinists, techs).
Min 3 years of HR experience within a manufacturing setting
Min 1 year of experience with a HRIS system

This is an ITAR facility - U.S. Persons Required (Green Card Ok)

PHR, SPHR, SHRM cert
