Role Summary

As a Sr. Tooling Program Manager, you will manage multiple equipment maintenance programs to support the upkeep of various tools and equipment at the Rivian Service Centers in multiple geographical markets. You will prioritize the scheduling of tool and equipment maintenance and service with the approved Rivian service vendors to enable the service centers to operate efficiently, promoting a positive service experience for all service customers.

This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Service Readiness on the Service Operations Team.


Responsibilities

  • Execute service center tooling and equipment repair and maintenance strategies within the Service organization.
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments including Tooling Engineering and Service Tooling and Equipment to define all tooling and equipment repair and maintenance requirements to provide above and beyond support to multiple service centers.
  • Manage service tooling and equipment workload ticketing system including allocation management of third party versus internal resources.
  • Facilitate and represent tooling repair and maintenance in ongoing discussions and updates within the organization.
  • Perform audits and reviews to ensure tooling repair and maintenance projects are meeting expectations and deadlines and rectify, as necessary.
  • Problem-solve; find the root cause and best solutions to issues that arise with the tooling and equipment maintenance projects and manage remedies to closure.
  • Drive projects across stakeholders and proactively seek feedback, recommendation, and consensus.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in managing equipment service/maintenance programs in the automotive or technical field.
  • Bachelor's + 3 years, Master's + 1 years, PhD, equivalent experience in mechanics, engineering, operations; program management preferred.
  • Hands on automotive technical expertise.
  • Holistic understanding of service center operations, collision repair procedures, tooling, parts operations, supplier management and contract negotiations.
  • Experience in automotive or technology sector working with cross-functional teams, managing service/maintenance programs, and process development.
  • Strong workflow development skill sets to transform complex repair and maintenance requests into business requirement documentations.
  • Excellent team player with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and an eye for making good results
  • Experience in a startup environment or technology sector is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $107,000 - $133,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
