POSITION SUMMARY

The Nurse Manger is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals, and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital's philosophy, objectives, educational and Quality Improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff assigned to his/her unit.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management is acceptable.

Experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.

Licensure:

  • Current RN license to practice by the State Board of Nursing. A valid driver's license is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of TJC, CMS, OSHA requirements, and state regulatory requirements preferred. The Manager must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of the hospital's designated behavioral and physical management training program, including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint required prior to assisting in the procedures. May be required to work flexible hours
