Position Summary:
Provide work direction and supervision to the Agricultural Operations staff involved in maintenance and repair work of production machinery, equipment, and facilities. Assure successful completion of all work performed by maintenance staff, including routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance. Assigns work orders to maintenance personnel as needed. Monitor or plan work completed by outside contractors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of maintenance management/supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or vocational training specializing in maintenance mechanics or related field

Essential Functions:
* Set schedules to maintain proper production coverage and to maintain preventative and scheduled maintenance on equipment.
* Maximize existing PM Software Tools or recommend new PM software which will support strategy of cost effective, reliable, ease of use and integration capability with current software in use.
* Review scheduled and preventative maintenance documentation and assign work orders as required avoiding production downtime. Maintenance work order planning to be used as a valuable tool to measure individual mechanic productivity rates and support future mechanic training initiatives.
* Set standards of involvement with maintenance personnel to reduce downtime during production.
* Determine need for and schedule subcontractors.
* Ensure all maintenance KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) and particularly those dealing with controllable maintenance budget, maintenance labor productivity, plant services cost per case (water, electricity, gas), R & M cost per case etc. are fully tracked, reported at agreed time intervals while meeting and exceeding standard plant requirements.
* Ensure food safety and quality protocols are followed.
* Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, and aprons.

Secondary Functions:
* Communicate with production team to keep plant informed of scheduled maintenance.
* Maintain a cost-controlled inventory.
* Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities:
Manages activities of maintenance staff at the Dixon plant in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, as well as planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, performance management, and employee relations.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
* Self-directed and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.

* Strong leadership, organizational, prioritization and interpersonal skills.
* Computer literate including Microsoft office
* Advanced math skills: analysis, statistics, significant data or number manipulation
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with customer service skills
* Coaching, mentoring, and problem analysis skills
* Teambuilding, training, presentation, and teaching skills
* Physical activities including standing, walking, stopping, talking, reaching, climbing, handling and hearing.
* Ability to lift push, pull and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Working conditions:
Work is performed during the day in a production environment. The position is subject to long hours, on-call status, extensive close work, the use of and exposure to hazardous materials, exposure to high pressure steam, high voltage, and constant standing. The noise level is usually moderate to loud.

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$72,900-$117,300

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
