Overview

ANNUAL SALARY (DEPENDING ON SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): $105,450.15 - $179,194.52

SCOPE: The Human Resources Director is the key business partner for senior leadership. This role focuses on coaching our managers/leaders and partners to deliver engaging careers and work experiences. They maximize performance and engagement. They build a team and work with internal partners to deliver high-impact people process and compliance people operations. This role manages all human resources policies, programs and practices, including all aspects of the department. This position ensures legal compliance and regulations by monitoring and implementing applicable federal, state and local employment laws and requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, managing legal claims and representing the organization at hearings. Leads employee culture, welfare, wellness, health benefits, and other employee services. Monitors HR policies, practices, and processes to determine efficiency and effectiveness. Recommends improvements to senior leadership to optimize operational support, achieve and deliver results that fosters a positive employee experience.



Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides expertise to the organization which includes human resource programs, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence, disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; employee recognition and engagement; and employee training and development.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and engagement surveys to support the organization's business initiatives, people strategy and human resource compliance needs.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy and aligns the people strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Directs and implements benefits strategy
  • Leads the Culture of CARE committee and program initiatives
  • Compensation management
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs to develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Develops and facilitates manager and employee training on various HR topics including diversity, equity and inclusion, harassment prevention, leadership skills, employee development, coaching/counseling and progressive discipline and, federal, state and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Manages unemployment claims impact
  • Worker's Compensation Insurance/OSHA
  • Develops and maintains HR related databases, including Employee hiring termination data, earnings information and history, relevant dates, performance evaluations, Job descriptions and qualifications for positions, data for quantification of hiring, applicant tracking and terminations
  • Proposes, creates, maintains and executes monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables reporting on these databases, including in-depth analysis of these reports along with recommendations to Executive Leadership, including turnover statistics; length of service of employees that have terminated; reasons for voluntary / involuntary terminations; number of new positions created/positions deleted; training program effectiveness, length of training.
  • Ensures that company and managers are in compliance with all local, state and federal employment laws and communicates changes and updates, including FMLA, CFRA, DFEH, ADA, and EEOC.
  • Works with HR team to complete and submit government reporting data as required by state and federal laws, including but not limited to: EEO-1, 401(K) compliance testing and annual benefits analysis.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policies, practices, and resource needs to upper management. Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) and/or talent management system.
  • Develops and implements department budget.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
  • At least five years of human resource management experience required.

WORKING CONDITIONS: May include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing, radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work entails a typical office environment and computer use the majority of the time. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require travel by automobile to office sites or extended travel to business functions.
