Petco is a category-defining health and wellness company focused on improving the lives of pets, pet parents and Petco partners. We are 29,000 strong, working together across 1,500+ pet care centers, 250+ Vetco Total Care hospitals, hundreds of preventive care clinics, eight distribution centers and two support centers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely auditing of license and permitting documentation and completion of required registration filing, using knowledge of Federal and State regulations, and general compliance awareness.

  • Create standard operating procedures for the maintenance of license, registrations, certificates, and permit maintenance.

  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with teams across the practice, along with licensing agencies.

  • Ensure registrations are closed, transferred, or initiated when hospitals close, relocate or open.

  • Notify department head and appropriate medical staff leadership of significant events.

  • Facilitate improvement activities related to regulatory compliance by partnering with hospitals and clinics to ensure required permitting, reporting, posting, and tracking is completed.

  • Monitor and comply with local, state, federal, and company policies pertaining to the handling of confidential information and organization of records.

  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure licenses are accurate, current, and comply with vendor requests.

  • Maintain a robust rabies reporting process for Vetco Clinics and Vetco Total Care hospitals.

  • Strong time management and organization skills with an analytical mindset

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees and regulatory agencies.

  • Ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with external agencies and internal business units.

  • Interact professionally and efficiently through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests.

  • Shows willingness and aptitude to use own discretion in taking appropriate steps in finding solutions to problems; presents options and ideas to enhance current processes or procedures.

  • Takes on additional responsibility when both big and small tasks need to be done.

  • Is open to changing situations and opportunities and is willing to perform all tasks assigned.

  • Maintains a positive "can do" outlook, rebounds quickly from frustrations and unpleasantness, and maintains composure and friendly demeanor while dealing with stressful situations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience or equivalent education processing and organizing sensitive data requiring strict deadlines.

  • Comfortably and confidently uses a computer and specialized software. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Share Point, Smartsheet's, etc.

  • Health care background (veterinary or human healthcare)

  • Knowledge of basic radiation and rabies rules and regulations. (Preferred)

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

$64,800.00 - $97,200.00
