Job Description
Purpose
Under direct supervision of the HR Compliance Specialist, this position is responsible for supporting the functional areas of the Human Resources Department by performing various tasks to assist in compliance initiatives such as the, OFCCP Federal Contractor EEO program, Prohibited Harassment Prevention Training, Department of Transportation (DOT) and Drug and Alcohol (D&A) programs, Driver monitoring program, as well as company policies, procedures, and practices as needed.

Focus & Scope
Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:
  1. Assist in maintaining the company's 16-Step program in compliance with the OFCCP EEO guidelines.
  2. Assist in administering the Prohibited Harassment Training program companywide.
  3. Assist in maintaining the Company's DOT/D&A programs, with assistance from various departments, to ensure the company is compliant with all required laws, regulations, etc.
  4. Act as the Assistant Designated Employer Representative (DER) for the company's Drug and Alcohol (D&A) Testing Program.
  5. Lead the management, maintenance, and training of the company's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring program.
  6. Assist in administering areas of the company's DOT/D&A programs, that are delegated to various departments (Equipment, Safety, Operations, etc.), to ensure they are compliant with federal/state regulations and company policies, procedures, and practices.
  7. Assist in coordinating, training, and provide DOT guidance to all federally regulated and non-regulated employees and their supervisors as needed/required.
  8. Assist in implementing and maintaining effective processes, controls, and self-auditing to identify regulatory compliance risks/concerns/gaps, and opportunities for improvement, within the company's compliance programs, policies, etc.
  9. Assist with administering the Company's Workplace Violence Prevention Program and training.
  10. Provide back-up support to other HR team members when necessary.

Role Qualifications & Requirements


Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • College Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources a plus.
Experience & Industry Expertise
  • 3+ years of increasingly responsible office administrative experience in Human Resources.
  • 2+ years of experience in a DOT and/or D&A administrative role.
  • Prior experience in Human Resources, Safety, Transportation and/or Risk a plus.
Specific Job Requirements
  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven knowledge of FMCSA, PHMSA and DOT regulations
  • Attention to detail/accuracy, quick learner and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively; disseminate information, convey concepts/ideas/information and interface with all levels of employees, management, and external customers/vendors.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities and work in high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities and tight timelines/deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment.
  • Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to abide by Company Code of Conduct daily.
  • May occasionally be required to back up other HR functions, as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Physical: Sitting for long periods of time working at the computer and on the telephone. Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs, bending, and stooping. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise. Demands of meeting tight deadlines. May at times have little interaction with others as field personnel are out of the office during work hours.

HOURLY BASE SALARY RANGE:
$20.96 - $31.25
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
