JOB SUMMARY |
The Mobile Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining utility construction equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
- A working knowledge of vehicle and construction equipment repair and maintenance shop at a level normally acquired through three years of experience, education, training, or any combination that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS |
- Possess or acquire a valid commercial motor vehicle driver's license appropriate for the position.
|
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
|
- Demonstrated knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
- Familiar with mechanical design and fabrication.
- Experience with electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems.
- Use of power and hand tools, use of diagnostic equipment, and experience with operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Experience with Caterpillar, John Deere, Backhoes, Skid Steers, Rollers.
- Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical automotive, air and hydraulic brake systems, trailer electric brakes basic welding and metal fabrication.
- Accurate and professional written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to understand and follow safety practices and procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment to include maintaining and repairing utility construction equipment including, but not limited to, digger derricks, manlifts and truck mounted cranes, directional drills, bulldozers, trailers, etc.
- Order replacement parts and clean and lubricate parts.
- Requisition new parts and equipment.
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Travel to job sites to repair equipment.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports.
- May act as lead person in supervisor's absence.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, other agencies, and the public.
- This position is required to drive.
- Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
- This position may require working out of town for periods of time.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS |
- $35-$45 per hour DOE
