Job Summary

Our Construction Management team is currently seeking an experienced Landscape Architectural Construction Inspector for work on major highways planting and/or irrigation work. The Landscape Inspector will provide consultation, inspection and assist the Resident Engineer (RE) with highway landscape and landscape support contracts to ensure work being performed conforms to the project contract plans, Special Provisions, Standard Specifications and Directives. This position is based out of the Stockton, California Area but may require travel around various regions in Central California.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect large-scale landscape projects to ensure compliance with the contract documents.

  • Interpret contract specifications and special provisions.

  • Conduct and/or observe and document test on soils, asphalt, concrete, slope, aggregates, bituminous products, metal products and industrial coatings.

  • Apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out tasks as part of a broad range of project assignments.

  • Monitor contractor's work progress and schedule and maintain daily records that track this performance.

  • Support contract compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations.

  • Assist in the resolution of design/coordination issues.

  • Attend and facilitate various meetings, and prepare meeting minutes.

  • Assist in project close-out.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

  • High School Degree required. Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, civil engineering or closely-related field is preferred.

  • CA PLA Or Graduation from a curriculum in Landscape Architecture accredited by ASLA

  • Minimum of 4+ years experience working in landscape construction inspection for highway or major public works.

  • Demonstrated experience with concepts and practices related to complex engineering and construction infrastructure projects is required.

  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to utilize any project-related software.

  • Current OSHA 30-hour safety course preferred.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of$35.00 - $60.00 hourly for this position and local market.
