Primary Purpose
Oversees and manages installation, customization, configuration, and deployment of enterprise GIS (ESRI suite of products) or Engineering Design (AVEVA and Autodesk products) system software including requirements for operating systems, database technologies, security managers, systems integration, systems monitoring, task automations, online transactional systems, including web services and 3rd party vendor software solutions. Provides strategic technical direction, consulting, design, and implementation expertise for systems of varied levels of complexity; working directly with Directors, Project Managers, Leads, Business and IT organizations to provide solution architecture. Creates and reviews architecture diagrams, designs, implementation plans, and provides guidance for large projects. Required to adhere to SoCalGas safety, regulatory and cyber security requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluates software packages and make recommendations to management.
- Facilitates the development and delivery of applications by application groups throughout the company by providing systems integration consultation and implementation.
- Configures and installs hardware and operating system, sub-system software, 3rd party vendor products.
- Resolves hardware/software platform problems in complex, layered, and enterprise software.
- Leads and coordinates large scale enterprise hardware and software projects spanning multiple IT departments/projects.
- Certify system software, as well as troubleshoot and resolve second and third-level support problems and outages within Service Level Objectives.
- Researches and evaluates new hardware and software technology trends. Design and develop IT Infrastructure systems by applying engineering, hardware and software design theories and principles to develop a compatible system infrastructure that is in line with organizational strategies.
- Ensures server standardization via clear, concise and consistent communication of hardware and software standard configurations and deployment procedures.
- Frequently interacts with third-party technology vendors and internal support groups, including Production Control, System Software Development, DBA, Information Protection and operations staff.
- Documents system software configurations, standards and procedures. On call 7x24 to provide support for Mission Critical systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent training and/or experience. Required
- Master's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent training and/or experience. Preferred
Experience
- 8+ At least eight or more years of experience in systems support. Required
- Senior experience with a variety of operating systems, protocols and tools, including: 3rd party vendor software and performance management tools, database performance and utility products and automated operations Required

5 years Senior experience with ESRI suite of products such as ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop and their extensions, Development APIs, ArcGIS Online...

- Design of Disaster Recovery ready solutions in geographically distributed data centers. Intermediate Required
- Understanding of mobile computations and Mobile Device Management (MDM). Beginner Preferred
- Knowledge of distributed systems design with offline dataset capabilities (data replication/sync) in the field. Intermediate Required
